Lord's, Rain and Zaheer

Much anticipated 2000th Test match didn't really have an expected smooth or one could say sunny start. Grey-ed under over cast conditions, Lord's was on the receiving side of some dense cloud cover resisting to clear. After a delayed start, proceedings kicked off with England put into bat by Dhoni on a pitch with a ting of moisture and damp outfield.
The talk on team selection was finally put to rest with Raina getting a nod ahead of Yuvraj and Praveen's deceptive swing was preferred over the steamy Sreesanth. England went with Stuart Broad and the rest of the line up was the expected ten. Zaheer shared the new ball with Praveen Kumar, both the seamers looked in good shape and Zak made the ball do some heavy talking. Pressure seemed evident on English duo as both of them scored at slow pace and were not in nick of things. Zaheer struck early by sending Cook early, the ODI captain was trapped in front by an incoming delivery pitched on middle. Strauss showed promise, only before he scooped one to deep fine-leg where Ishant caught a dolly of Zak.
Trott-Pieterson showed composure as the duo took the total past hundred and Trott bettered his run by scoring another half-century. Things went gaga for team India as they saw Zaheer walking, courtesy some muscle cramps. Predicted to be a hamstring pull, they are only cramps-sources revealed. Rain came walking as the players went back to the pavilion. Day-1 called off and Indian camp have a lot of overnight thinking. With England well placed for a big total , India would look to come all guns blazing on day-2 and see off the duo early.
